This describes how to modify a Lacrosse WS2300 Weather station to transmit data every 8 seconds or so. Normally, data is sent on an intermittent basis. This can be anywhere from 32 seconds to up to 10 minutes.

Personal weather stations upload weather data to web sites such as Weather Underground.

WUHU requires that you have a printer installed before you install the software. WUHU is using a version of Teechart that contains a bug that will cause the program to crash if a default printer is not found.

Sometimes, the sunlight gets into the LaCrosse anemometer body, and illuminates the photo-diodes used to report wind direction. This in turn causes incorrect wind direction readings on the console.

A possible fix is documented here: block sunlight with black paint.

One of the most useful features of WUHU is it has the ability to fire multiple actions by reading a action file.
The action file is a plain text file with a list of commands that WUHU will perform in order.
You can define this action file under any of the Sound/Action buttons.
As an example you can perform the list of actions on every data update, a storm alert, high outdoor wind speed, or any of the other Sound/Action buttons.

Fire up your web browser

Visit <http://mapper.acme.com/>

Find your weather station site (or as close to it as you can)

Type in your city, and adjust the map until you find your location.
